Environment Challenge

As an Environmental Business (SME) our goals are dedicated to the sustainability of silt, sediment and toxic impacted ecosystems. Our work is across a multi faceted group of areas including, Road Construction, Water Ways, Mining, Road Reserves, Plantations, Forests and Parks, Drains, Lakes and many other natural environments.

  • Australian Bushfires damage has left large scale ash problems as the ash flows into stock dams, rivers, creeks and streams feeding farm land. Mt Cole fire February 2024 is continuing to burn, as is Mt Lonarch.
  • Water Areas have been impacted by many bacteria’s, toxic material and fire damaged items. (Enterococci, Algae, tannin, domestic rubbish) Siltforce contracts ALS Global for all water testing.
  • Recycling and Waste Management is causing large scale domestic illegal dumping challenges. In particular is glass and electric vehicle battery disposal in the near future.
  • As the world changes and the need to manage waste has become every so more important, we all need to consider what it is we are doing to the natural resources, land and trees, wild life and the sustainability of our environments. We are not the only living species here. So many other species rely upon the human race to secure their future as well as our own. Trees are actually good for us, yet we destroy so many of them.
  • Dumping of illegal rubbish into rivers and on the side of the road because we don’t want to pay a tip fee is continuing, the impact on nature wildlife is huge.
  • Land fill and old landfill sites are a cause of concern, as is methane, metals, tyres and more. So much of the human waste is going into landfill, destroying the soil, infecting the plants and areas we live, even housing estates are being built on old landfill (Unsecured) sites.
  • E Waste is now also a serious problem as is glass, batteries and metal.

The world is experiencing challenging times, we are not immune to this challenge and potential damage. Siltforce continues to work in the field under the guidelines set out by:

  • Australian Federal Government
  • Victorian Government
  • Victorian Government Health Services for COVID 19 protocols.
  • Local Government (Councils & Water Authorities)
  • Work Safe Australia
  • EPA Victoria
  • EPA Queensland

In fact our work now has become more important than ever before.  Protecting Environments, Water Ways, Agriculture, Wild Life, Species and Live Stock is critical

Landfill & Domestic Rubbish

Landfill sites can be very dangerous, they can be completed properly, yet most are not. Siltforce is dedicated to improve as many old and new land fill sites as we can. Continued scientific evidence to manage and maintain Landfill sites shows us there is a long road ahead. As the domestic cost of rubbish removal and disposal continues to rise, many cases of illegal dumping on road sides and country areas continue, and in fact increase. Household furniture, carpet, baby nappies, bottles and metal objects are a serious risk to community health and the answer is not Landfill.

Interesting times ahead.

Slashing & Trimming

Siltforce is continuing to do slashing and trimming of Drains and Culverts as an added service during the Coronavirus Pandemic challenge to business. January 2022 started slashing in the Pyrenees Shire. The impact of La Nina climate changes has forced nature to have unprecedented growth of grasslands, trees, shrubs and weeds. Rainfalls have been significant and our summer quite small in time. Siltforce will perform any task within our capability and machinery, skills and manpower.
