Our Beginning:

Siltforce was founded in 2007 at a mining site in Tasmania to create ways to improve water environments and ecosystems affected by Sediments, Silt and Toxins. To manage sediment control on Road Works, National Parks, Rivers, Streams, Brooks, Creeks, Wetlands, Landfill, Flora and Fauna, Soil and Native Vegetation, was our vision. Sourcing where the contaminates and impurities came from via monitoring, sampling, probes and scientific evaluation to find, treat and install a solution impacting strongly on the ecosystem and environment areas by construction, roadwork’s or human elements.

Our target market in 2008 began with Local Government, State Governments and Federal (National) Governments. This was followed in 2011 with a surge into Chinese markets, predominately Fujian Province, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Changsha (Xiangtan). Rural areas of China became increasingly in need of investigating silt and erosion damages and issues. From 2011 – 2017 a lot of ground work, partnering and investment went into China via Victorian Government Trade missions and Austrade Missions and working partnerships. The Chinese market was difficult and indifferent but we were successful in many provinces. In 2020 COVID-19 epidemic impacted activity into China and International locations, 2021 progressed with minimal new clients and we are surviving with a variation of work. 2022 was a year of development starting with Slashing of Paddocks and Roadside work, the drainage cage and stronger micron material for sediment control. 2023 continues slowly, as Government funding dries up and we enter a recession.

Siltforce from inception created, designed, engineered, manufactured and assembled our specific Silt Gate and Silt Fence product range using quality Australian material. The company engages with Consultant Scientists, Engineers and a Skilled workforce of suitable contractors to impact the capability of our product range for Silt & Sediment Management.

Our specific products and consultative team provide permanent and temporary support solutions and laboratory results to all our customers. The company has tirelessly targeted Australian Federal & State Governments in Australia & New Zealand & Provinces in China and Asia to develop the business; the GFC in 2008 and economic forces put pressure on Government Environmental spending, creating challenges within Siltforce to support Local Government cost reductions and real time solutions for any serious silt, sediment or Environment issue.

During the period from 2014 to early 2019 the global trend of Environment Management importance by Corporations and Governments sales continued to decrease; a lot of talk regarding Climate Change was just that; TALK. In 2020 – 2022 COVID-19 applied even greater pressure, our ongoing challenge is to highlight the greater need to save our water ways, plants, trees and species. Road works, Construction and Landfill, bridge works and native trees are all target areas, along with regional and Rural Councils, community protection and supporting localized EPA requirements.

Bushfire and flooding damaged areas on farms, roadside creeks and table drains for repairs and maintenance supporting cleaner, healthier environments has become a priority in 2024 in Victoria.

2022 – 2024 (Semi-post Pandemic)

2024 brings change. Small project slashing and maintenance started in January 2022. May 2022 sees the company reducing our service range. Covid 19 hit sales hard in 2020 and 2021. Our international operations are supplied on a consulting only basis. In January 2024 we ceased work in Cairns. Our strategy is to reduce costs and maintain income within our restrictions as costs of sales continue to rise. Projects are now the focus.

All water testing is no longer available from Siltforce. We recommend & outsource to ALS Global.
